Keep Your Child On Track
Infants and children grow incredibly fast.
When one or both of their eyes have developmental issues, the consequences can be far-reaching.
To ensure that you’re giving your child the best shot at success, follow our recommended schedule for eye exams:
- First exam: Between 6 and 9 months old.
- Second exam: Between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. However, your child’s optometrist may recommend they have their eyes examined more frequently.
- Third exam: Before your child starts school

Set Your Child Up for Success
Undiagnosed vision issues can cause serious problems in your child’s life and development.
And, what may seem like a simple vision issue could be an undiagnosed learning disability, or vice versa.
That’s why annual eye exams are so important.
Make it Part of Your Routine
When you bring your child in for routine visits, their optometrist can track their development and monitor any changes in their eye health or visual abilities.
Subtle changes could indicate myopia (nearsightedness) or strabismus (crossed eyes) are forming.
It’s important to get your child treatment as early as possible to prevent more serious problems from developing.
